A Closer Look At Our AW19 Collection

Posted 06.08.19  - Style

Our latest collection, and the first from new Turnbull Creative Director, Ms. Becky French, found its starting point with the famous post-impressionist painter, Vincent van Gogh. Particularly inspired by his time living in London, van Gogh’s love for the city was well-documented, and it formed the central theme for the current exhibition taking place at TATE Britain.

Adapting this, we focused the new collection on the idea of a European man and his desire to take in London for everything that it is. Van Gogh’s prominent artworks, and his artist friends including Francis Bacon, were used to guide the palette combinations of soft pink, rich green and navy against pops of bold coral, marine, yellow and copper.

The photoshoot took place in South London and was shot by Stephen Morgan, with styling by David Nolan. The shoot was a combination of indoor and outdoor photography, showcasing several looks from the new collection. Within the space of two hours we witnessed intense sun, a hailstorm and a torrential downpour—the perfect conditions, as it turned out, to put our outerwear to the test. Take a look at some of the behind the scenes photos below, and explore the collection in-store and online, here.
