The Royal Warrant

The Royal Warrant

When HM King Charles III was granted the power of bestowing royal warrants in 1980, his first issue was granted to Turnbull & Asser, an honour that we’re immensely proud of. There are around 800 royal warrant holders ranging from traditional craftspeople to global multinationals. Regardless of size or specialisation, we’re all united by our commitment to impeccable service and product excellence.

Steven Quin

Turnbull & Asser’s Head of Bespoke, Steven Quin became the royal warrant holder on 23rd April 1999. Its ownership was passed down to him following the retirement of head cutter Paul Cuss after the brand was first bestowed with the honour in 1980. Responsible for fitting The King whenever he calls on us for a new shirt, he heads our London bespoke service on Bury Street.

HM King Charles III's Coronation Shirt

Among the many shirts we’ve crafted for HM King Charles III, Turnbull & Asser had the honour of crafting The King’s shirt worn on his Coronation Day on May 6th, 2023. Created using 100% cream-spun silk, the design on the collars, cuffs, and buttons was embroidered and sewn by hand, taking 40 hours to accomplish. We are proud to have produced a beautiful shirt honouring our expert craftsmanship for such a significant and historic occasion.
