THE ROYAL WARRANT: CRAFTSMANSHIP OF DISTINCTION
In 1980, when His Majesty King Charles III, then HRH Prince of Wales, first received authority to bestow royal warrants, Turnbull & Asser was honoured with his inaugural appointment—a distinguished recognition we have maintained through our unwavering commitment to the highest standards of British craftsmanship.
Our shirts and ties, meticulously created in our Gloucester workrooms, embody the exceptional quality that has earned us the privilege to serve the royal household. We proudly support the UK economy while preserving traditional craftsmanship by employing skilled local artisans throughout our British operations. Each piece reflects our dedication to sustainable manufacturing practices, ethical production methods, and the preservation of traditional tailoring arts that define British excellence.
In 2024, we were again honoured to receive a royal warrant from His Majesty King Charles III, joining approximately 800 esteemed warrant holders worldwide. This renewed appointment affirms our position among those rare establishments whose superior craftsmanship and service have earned the most prestigious mark of quality a British company can receive.

HM King Charles III’s Coronation Shirt
Among the many shirts we have had the privilege of crafting for His Majesty King Charles III, Turnbull & Asser was honoured to create the shirt worn on his Coronation Day, May 6th, 2023. Made from 100% cream-spun silk, the design on the collar, cuffs, and buttons was meticulously embroidered and sewn by hand, a process that took 40 hours to complete.
We are immensely proud to have contributed to such a historic occasion, creating a shirt that reflects the unparalleled craftsmanship for which Turnbull & Asser is renowned.
