Turnbull & Asser Welcomes Roberto Menichetti
Turnbull & Asser is delighted to announce the formal appointment of Roberto Menichetti as Creative Director. Over the past 18 months, Roberto has guided the house’s creative direction, which is already reflected in our ready-to-wear collections. He now assumes responsibility for the entire creative concept, including bespoke shirting, tailoring, outerwear and accessories.
Roberto also conceived and designed the expansion of our flagship store into 69 Jermyn Street, which opened last year, showcasing his vision for the house in both design and space.
A CONSIDERED APPOINTMENT

For 140 years, Turnbull & Asser has been defined by craft, proportion, and an unhurried approach to making. Roberto Menichetti has brought the same ethos over the past 18 months, guiding ready-to-wear and shaping the aesthetic of the house with clarity and essential form.
Born in the United States and raised in Italy, Menichetti trained in Paris with Claude Montana before joining Gruppo GFT and later Jil Sander, where he established a reputation for pure, minimalist lines and launched the house’s menswear collection. His tenure at Burberry saw a careful rejuvenation of a storied British marque; his stewardship modernised an icon and set a course for sustained growth. Across a distinguished international career – from Céline to Ballantyne, from consulting commissions to his own atelier – Menichetti has made a practice of distilling clothing to its most honest expression.
CRAFT, COLLABORATION AND CONTINUITY

Roberto will continue to guide the visual and sartorial language of the house, working with our craftsmen to refine fabrics, bespoke tailoring techniques, and considered innovations that respect the longevity of each garment. This appointment formalises a collaboration that has been shaping the house’s creative output for over a year.
“Roberto’s appointment reflects our ambition to bring fresh energy to our wardrobe while remaining true to the craftsmanship that has defined Turnbull & Asser for over a century. His proven ability to modernise heritage houses while respecting their DNA makes him the perfect partner as we look to the future. That future continues to be shaped by the skill of our artisans in London and Gloucester and by our enduring belief in ‘Made in England’. We are confident that Roberto’s international experience and proven creative leadership will ensure the continued success and growth of our house.” – James Fayed, Chairman of Turnbull & Asser
“Turnbull & Asser represents more than a brand; it is a living expression of British style and elegance, carefully built over generations. It is remarkable that the house has preserved its identity so faithfully and is untouched by passing trends, carrying it forward to the present day with care and dedication under James and his family. To be entrusted with its creative future is both an honour and a responsibility. My philosophy has always been to seek the essence of form – clarity, proportion and timelessness – rather than the noise of passing trends. At Turnbull & Asser, this philosophy meets a heritage of craftsmanship that is second to none. My vision is to uphold and protect this tradition while introducing quiet innovations that ensure its voice continues to resonate with discerning clients around the world.” – Roberto Menichetti, Creative Director of Turnbull & Asser
